Horse back safaris are reminiscent of the earliest safaris. Rides may cover between 15 to 30 miles per day – about 4-6 hours in the saddle – with tented but nonetheless luxury camps moving ahead of your group. These mobile safaris are supported by a large support crew ensuring the minimum of fuss and maximum of comfort. You will also have the opportunity to to enjoy game drives, bush walks and night game drives. It is advisable that that you are a confident rider, at least comfortable to ride at a canter.
Many of the lodges and camps also provide horse riding amongst their activities.
