Richard’s Camp offer two small exclusive luxury tented camps in the Maasai Mara: River Camp and Forest Camp. Both offer a more private exclusive safari experience.
River Camp is located on the banks of the Njageteck River in the Olare Orok Conservancy, The nearby Ngoyanai springs attracts wildlife to the area around camp, including a resident lion pride, which provide perfect background roars during the night.
The camp consists of only seven tents, making the camp ideal for individuals as well as exclusive groups. The spacious custom designed tents have either twin or double beds with extra beds available for families and en suite bathrooms with heated showers. Solar system provides 24-hour light to all the tents.
The more traditional safari style is reflected in the serving of meals outside (although there is a dining tent with a fireplace for chilly days).
The Olare Orok Airstrip is nearby.
Forest Camp
This was the original ‘Richard’s Camp’, although at first it was built as a home in 1980. It is truly a secluded retreat, set in a shady forest but with views across the Mara plains.
Recently refurbished, the 8 large and spacious custom designed tents feature an en-suite bathrooms with heated showers, furnished in classic safari style. Each tent has either twin or double beds with extra beds available for families. Solar system provides 24-hour light to all the tents.
Ngerende Airstrip is nearby.
Both camps aim to tailor activities to their guests individual needs and include escorted bush walks, day and night game drives, bush dinners and sundowners. Cultural visits, scenic flights and balloon safaris can be arranged on request.
